My career path has been varied. I started as a publicist — then worked as a freelance journalist for over a decade. Both these careers were about my love of people. I had a burning desire to understand what made people expand and retract, struggle, or thrive. I’ve interviewed hundreds of fascinating people throughout my professional life.

I earned a PhD in Clinical Sexology and work as a Sexologist. Prior to this, I also earned a Masters in Clinical Psychology and trained with both Community Counseling and Education Center (CCEC) and Pacific Pride Foundation (PPF) in Santa Barbara. Additionally, I use Gottman Method Couples Therapy and Terry Real’s concepts in my work. I am trained to work with trauma via Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and I’m certified in Sex Addiction Therapy (CSAT). I am also a board-certified Sex Therapist.

I have considerable experience working with LGBT individuals and couples. From 2017-2022, I taught as adjunct faculty in the Masters program at Antioch University Santa Barbara, and I’m the past president of the Santa Barbara Chapter of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (SB-CAMFT). In addition to one-on-one,  couples therapy, and intensives, I also run a small group offering focused on sexual health for women called The Pleasure Circle. I write and podcast on the topic of sexual health through The Pleasure Project. My fee is $350.

Author, Establishing Boundaries with Kids; A parent’s guide to negotiating limits and improving parent-child interactions.

For over two decades, my passion has been helping families create solutions so they may enjoy more connected and loving relationships. I founded Solutions in Parenting, a private practice specializing in parent education, family consultation, co-parenting mediation, and psychotherapy.

I have combined skills and experience gained as a parent educator, lecturer, family mediator, and psychotherapist to develop a highly effective parenting system that teaches parents, children, and families to thrive in respectful and loving relationships.

I authored a book, Establishing Boundaries with Kids; A parent’s guide to negotiating limits and improving parent-child interactions, which is written for families, teachers, medical professionals, and mental health professionals to use as a reference guide for using positive parenting techniques with children.

I am trained as a trauma-informed EMDR clinician and I have extensive experience as a co-parenting mediator and support families who are separating and divorcing, with individualized guidance and parenting plans to include in dissolution agreements. I also provide expert guidance when blending families, navigating school challenges, and providing developmentally appropriate parenting guidance.

In my couples and individual work, I also support clients addressing challenges related to sexual desire, dysfunction and compatibility. I am the Past President of the Santa Barbara chapter of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and I served on the Legislative Advisory Committee for the state board of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.

I am certified to provide clinical supervision to both therapists-in-training as well as for established therapists and professionals, especially around topics relating to adolescents, divorce, parenting, and child development. My fee is $275.

Certified Addictions Counselor, CADC I CiCA01160519
Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT)

As a dedicated therapist with a deep passion for helping others, I found my calling in the field of clinical psychology, driven by the desire to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those struggling with addiction and trauma. My journey began as a CADC-certified alcohol and drug counselor, where I provided treatment for substance use disorders at CADA and Casa Serena. Through this work, I developed a strong commitment to guiding individuals and families toward recovery from the devastating effects of addiction.

Recognizing the deep-seated trauma that often underlies addictive behaviors, I returned to school to earn a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology, equipping myself to address these complex issues more comprehensively. During my extensive training and internship, I honed my expertise in treating anxiety, couples, trauma, and addiction.

I believe that disconnection from oneself often leads to disconnection from life and others, and my goal is to help you reconnect, fostering a healthier, happier life and stronger relationships. I offer compassionate support for individuals and couples navigating challenging times, whether related to addiction, intimacy, communication, or life transitions. I am a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT), a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor, and fully trained in EMDR to treat trauma. My goal is to help you not only feel better but live better.

My therapeutic approach is integrative, blending attachment theory and neuropsychology with evidence-based methods like CBT, trauma-informed care, and person-centered therapy. This combination aims to build resilience, improve relationships, regulate emotions, enhance communication, and promote healthy coping mechanisms. Additionally, I am trained in Gottman Method couples therapy and Nurturing Parenting.

Whether in our comfortable office or via telehealth, I provide a safe, supportive environment where you can process life’s challenges. I deeply understand the pain caused by addiction, anxiety, relationship struggles, and intense emotions, and I am here to help ease that pain, guiding you toward becoming your best self. I also facilitate an ongoing group for partners of betrayal. My fee is $225 per session.

My practice emphasizes the importance of balancing our important interpersonal relationships with healthy boundaries and self-compassion. I often hold space for clients who are struggling with relationship issues, concerns around sexuality and intimacy, general anxiety, low self-esteem, and trauma. I’m passionate about helping young women become embodied, grow into their sexuality, and become empowered in their relationships and lives.

I work with couples by helping reduce criticism, strengthen communication, and cultivate deeper understanding of each other’s worlds. These building blocks lead to more security, a more fulfilling sexual relationship, and a stronger sense of shared meaning. I love to work in the space between people who love each other. Getting into therapy with a partner can be intimidating, but holding intentional space to connect and work through your shared difficulties will be incredibly healing. I look forward to helping facilitate this experience for you.

I mostly work with teens, young adults, and couples. I offer EMDR to process tough memories and soften the impact of trauma, instilling confidence to move forward adaptively. I am trained in EMDR and the Gottman Method of couples therapy, and my practice also interweaves Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, feminist theory, and traditional sex therapy. I hold a master’s degree in clinical psychology and I am currently pursuing a PhD in Clinical Sexology. My fee is $170.
